The paths are different, but the end is the same Joseph Habineza, a Hutu who protected the Tutsis, During the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, in which nearly a million people were killed in a period not exceeding three months. Joseph chose to be a refuge for the Tutsis instead of killing them during the war of extermination, and then smuggling them to the Congo, which caused his leg to be amputated by members of his tribe as a threat to him We were astonished when we heard the story of that man, how could he live with half a leg high in the mountains despite the hard way..Why did he choose the mountain? What is the symbolism of that? Is it flight, pride, or what...?! All these questions and more are running through our minds that night. In the morning we gathered our gear and baggage and set out with the interpreter for Joseph's house, I remember well the moment we arrived, he insisted on coming down the mountain himself to welcome us, and then we went up the house together The first visit to him was breathtaking, and we could not control ourselves at the time, our eyes staring at every detail of his face, a man in his seventies whose face was decorated with bumps similar to the bumpy road we climbed, but the smile of contentment did not leave Habenisa’s face, and from here the story began.Times have changed, but events have not changed. Joseph spoke to us about the story as it happened. He started his speech by saying: "He is a traitor, so kill him..." The last sentence he heard before amputating his leg, then he told us the incident. The filming ended in the house, a house whose corners were decorated.... Nothing physical was mentioned, as the house was empty and lacked the basics of life! We asked Joseph to film some general scenes for him during his ascent to the mountain, it was hot, the road was bumpy and the photography equipment was heavy, however, Joseph was patient and cooperative with us despite the difficulty of communication, thus he told us about the road he takes daily and about the incident..
